to have a very serious talk with God about it the very first moment she could be alone and be still enough to hear His voice.

THAT night she could hardly wait until she was tucked in and the good-nights were said, so she could take up this wonderful new idea with God. She told Him all about it, and His voice said to her, “With God, all things are possible.”

Her heart jumped with joy. That must mean if she learned to do the work He had already given her to do, maybe sometime she would be able really to do with her magic smile all the things she wanted to do. Then she could tell all her dear ones about it and show them how it was done, and they would soon have all the bad gone from the world and nothing but good would be seen from then on.

She lay there with her eyes closed, while waves of happiness went through her from head to feet. Presently she felt something moving on her bed. She opened her eyes, and there, right on her bed were seven of the nicest little people she had ever seen. They were twelve inches high and were dressed in light brown suits. The trousers were very tight fitting, and jackets came only to their waist with a blouse beneath of a much lighter shade of brown. On their heads they wore a cap that went up to a peak with a tiny bell attached that tinkled merrily as they danced about on the coverlet.

One of them came close to her and said, “Hello Dorothy, we are very glad that you have made it possible for us to come to you.”

Dorothy was so surprised at the greeting, that she sat right up in bed and asked him what he meant. She had not known that there were such little people in the world, so how could she make it possible for them to come to her. He answered,

“Because of your sincere desire to help others and serve God, you have opened the door for us to come to you. We are going to take you on a journey to a lovely place, and there you will be taught just how you may always be happy and make others happy. If you are now ready to come with us, we will take you to this lovely place.”

“Oh, yes,” said Dorothy, “I do want to go with you.”
