The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1935

whenever it calls upon the Father’s Will-power and proceeds to put It into action, the very consciousness of doing His Will connects it with that power and uses it to do His Will.

Answering your questions, it is not a “puffing up” of your personality to care how others regard you, especially when you truly know your Divine Identity. In saying that Love should always rule over self, was meant over the mind concept of a separate self. When you get your mind to believe it is a part of the One Mind, and that it partakes of Its Divinity, and then you let Love rule in your consciousness, you cannot help but receive from and feel the power and reality of God.

In that realization it gets a glimpse of many of the realities of life and sees that all outside in its former consciousness were illusions—thought-forms created out of its ignorance and belief in being a separate-self. Then it has to go back, as it were, into its outer consciousness, and there begin to act on these truths, to live according to the realities it saw in the inner and higher consciousness.

That is what your mind is now trying to explain in your letter. You do not speak as yet as one fully knowing your Divine Identity, but you switch back and forth in consciousness from your inner and outer centers. The time will come when you will fully know you are a Divine Being, and you will speak always as such, whether in your inner or outer center of consciousness; and when referring
