The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JANUARY 1936

Naturally when it thus yields to you and learns to look to and depend upon you, more and more do you develop its powers and train it to be a perfect instrument for your use; until in time it becomes a master-mind. When such is attained you are then fully equipped to do what you came here to do.

If you can know it, this is what every awakened soul on earth is now striving with redoubled efforts to accomplish—to perfect its mind instrument as quickly as possible for the difficult times ahead.

We do not know of any other teaching that is thus openly and specifically aiding its students to retire consciously into the soul consciousness and to work from there. Those of you who are able to grasp this meaning and especially those who have followed faithfully the Impersonal teachings, who are beginning to know yourselves as souls, and who are consciously striving to enter and abide in this inner consciousness, it can easily be seen are far in advance of their fellowmen, and are the ones who will be the true Inner Workers who will become World Servers; because they will work in the full consciousness of their souls.

Those who recognize the significance of this will do everything possible to acquaint themselves with a knowledge of the soul and its powers, and they can find no greater help in The Inner Life Study Course on the Soul indicated in the advertising pages herein.

Once more let us state that those who are becoming aware of themselves as souls are but entering the “I Am” consciousness; for the “I Am” consciousness is but that of the soul whose mind is now conscious of it as “I Am,” as distinct from the mind’s “I.”

And it is far different from the Christ Consciousness, where Divine Love rules every thought, word and act, and one is doing the work of the Father on earth even as he is doing it in Heaven.

Of course, when a soul has become Christed by the “descent” of the Holy Spirit which thereafter makes its abode in the heart, then the “I Am” speaks from the Consciousness of Christ, or of Divine Love, and works consciously with its Brothers in Christ.
