The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JULY 1934
So we are asking you who are enlightened to go forth with us and become “fishers of men.” It is the Father’s call, perhaps the last, and I say unto you, follow Him, for many false prophets shall come in this day to lead many astray; but heed them not, they are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Any man who claims to be Christ, is false. Heed him not, but rather know that the Christ is within you and shall make Himself known, if you are strong in faith. For did not Jesus say, on the rock of Faith would be built His Church? (His Church meaning the Brotherhood of Christ.)
There is but one way—Jesus Christ, and any one entering the sheepfold by any other way is a thief and a robber. What then will be done to those false shepherds? They will be cast into outer darkness. Again I say unto you, there is but one way, even Christ Jesus, who is Love, Divine Love.
Be not misled, Divine Love is not human love. There is but one kind of human love that can be compared to Divine Love, and that is given by our Master in these words, “As a father pitieth (loves) his children, so our Heavenly Father pitieth you.” Can you not see that there is no comparison except in that respect?
Again I say, take heed and be not led astray. For in heaven there is no marrying or giving in marriage, and until human love can be lifted into a deep, abiding, Spiritual peace, harmony, contentment and happiness, it is not transmuted or redeemed.
Brethren, through the senses are men led astray. By the gratification of the animal senses are men lost to the reality of Spirit, yea, even destroyed. Look at the glutton, the drunkard, the harlot, even any who are steeped in the gratification of the physical senses. The feeding and indulging of sense lusts (under the pretense of gaining spirituality) is one of the most subtle and powerful forces to be reckoned with; a force that when raised to its rightful place becomes a mighty power for good, making men Kings upon earth; but when unrestrained and mistakenly used for self indulgence becomes a gross evil factor, resulting almost always in degradation, despair, insanity and even death.
