The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JULY 1936

“A Miracle,” to leave with her. Then I explained the Law telling her to take her own mental picture of Christ and hold to it in spite of everything else; to see Christ healing her husband whenever she thought of him, to see the radiance of Christ filling the room at the hospital whenever she was there and when she thought of it.

Following is their report to me last evening when we called at their residence. I am writing this with their permission.

From the wife—“Tuesday afternoon during my visit at the hospital my husband could not talk; he was lying in a coma from weakness as he had only one glass of milk a day for a week. I stayed an hour, as long as they would allow me. During this hour I sat by his bed holding in my mind the picture of Christ healing my husband. That same evening our Doctor called me on the phone telling me they were going to operate the following morning.”

From the man himself—“During the night of Tuesday and the morning of Wednesday this is what happened. Sometime during the night I awoke and there at my bedside stood Christ, with a son we had lost a few years ago and a half-sister who had likewise passed on. Christ was standing between them, the room was so filled with light that it almost blinded me. Jesus placed his hand over my face, drawing it up over the top of my head. At that instant I knew I was healed.

“The following morning the nurse was preparing me for the operating table when the Doctor came and looked at me. He said; ‘Hold on, we are not operating on this man!’ During the next few days I was the center of attention of all the Doctors at the hospital, as their examination showed all the former diseased conditions had disappeared.

“That morning I ate my first meal in weeks. I came home from the hospital a week later and still on the gain. There has something within taken full charge now. I am closer to God than ever before, I am also free of the grief of the death of my son.”

A PRIEST IN HIS ORDER

MANY times have I had the feeling that I was asleep and was dreaming all these mortal thoughts and happenings.
