The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JULY 1936
The souls had a thorough bath, and after splashing great quantities of water over everything and creating havoc in my lovely rooms, they appeared before me with only a towel wrapped around their bodies, happy and glowing and laughing. They draped themselves around in comfortable positions to be amused when I had time.
I was huffy, because I had to clean up their wet towels and clothes. The clothes were very soiled and ragged and I did not want to touch them. I, who owned this great Edifice, having to wash clothes! No one said they would help, and I was angry.
But as I continued to gather the towels and clothes I thought, “Why, this is what I promised to do—to give every one a bath; to take their sins on myself, I want to do this. Yes, I long to do it; I will gladly suffer for these young souls. God forgive them; they know not what they do. Yes, I am willing to be crucified for them. And I asked to take ALL their sins and let them go free.”
I forgot to tell you the most important part about the Princess.
After She spoke Her Name, I knew that this flesh would see God, as dark as it is.
I looked at Her Foot and every cell knew the essence of all feet on the earth—past and present. And every cell of Her Body contained complete knowledge.
Then I saw that Her Body was transparent and had no weight; my arm looked dark through its transparency. The crude, coarse atmosphere pressing around gave a contour to Her Presence, so that I could see Her. If the atmosphere could be taken away, Her Body would be without form.
She created Her Body by thought!
Only a fool would try to explain or draw a picture of that Thought. A Wise Man would not.
Now my mind cannot think of anything but the Edifice and the Princess. My Soul says that She is pleased with my physical body and loves it. Well, I just cannot get Her feelings, for I am now conscious it is a big, black, stupid thing hanging on to me; it is so heavy, and I shrink from this poor abomination. Common sense tells me it belongs to my soul, but my feelings say just the opposite.
It is a relief to sleep at night when I do not know of it.
