The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1936
that they are not making mental pictures of a destructive nature in anticipation of the change at that time, we do stress the necessity of careful preparation for anything that may come—and at any time.
We mean just that, for Jesus plainly stated that “no man knoweth the day or hour, not the angels from heaven, but my Father only!”
He also said, “Watch therefore, and be ye ready; for in such hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
How may you be ready and how should you prepare for His Coming?
There is one simple way which all may follow if they will. That is, from this moment until the change comes, to wait upon the Lord, the Loving One within, every moment of the day, striving only to please Him, concerned about nothing else than you are doing His Will, in the full KNOWING that by so doing He will take care of everything.
This is all that is necessary. For by thus linking your mind and will with His, the channel of your consciousness is wide open for Him to tell and show you just what to do when it needs to be done.
You will thus be constantly in touch with Him and will be ready for whatever comes to pass, for having no fear because of your perfect trust in Him, He can easily keep you from all harm. This for the simple reason that your mind being fixed on Him as the only Reality and as your sure protection, when seeming harm approaches, you will refuse to see it and will see only Him. And is He not your life, your consciousness, your nature, your strength, your support, your supply, your sufficiency in all things?
ALL Inner Workers have proven this in various ways. In fact all these experiences given you, where you were enabled to free yourself and others from harm, sickness and trouble, by knowing the above Truth, were but to perfect this knowing so as to prepare you when the greater tribulations come.
