The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | MAY 1935
very happy to see this growing spirit of service spreading so rapidly and finding so many hearts ready to respond to the Call for Workers.
Let none hesitate to tell us of any experiences that will inspire and help others to more selfless efforts in the Great Cause, even as you have been helped by what you have read herein. The Brothers need every channel that can be used. The need is very great. Selfless love and a yearning to serve makes you a channel. With such love and yearning shining in your heart, never doubt but your light will be seen by a Brother in Christ, and you will be given plenty of opportunity to serve.

GROUP WORK
IN NOVEMBER, just a few days after the magazine arrived, one of the women in Group No. 1, came in tears, saying, “Oh! we need you so.” Her husband hadn’t been well for sometime and the Doctor had told him that morning that he had T. B. Of course she was distressed.
I talked to her a little while and suggested that she and we would have our Silence together—it was about 12 o’clock. She stayed and we became very still and I prayed, using the healing prayer in THE INNER LIFE.
She went home feeling much better, and one week later when her husband went to the Doctor, he was told that his improvement was almost unbelievable, and if he, the Doctor, hadn’t examined him, himself, he would not accept it as possible. Since then he has gained 18 or 20 lbs. and is looking better than for years. He still coughs too much, but I tell him that is God’s way of ridding him of congested tissue, so that new tissue and life may manifest.
Now I will tell you of some of the seemingly small things. One of my girls in the other Group said, during our meeting, we must do something about her husband’s neck. It had been stiff for two months and was very uncomfortable. We prayed for him and the next week she said: “Jack’s neck is fine; and now let’s help my father-in-law.” He had rheumatism or something of the kind in his leg, and could hardly walk a block. The next week she reported he had walked down town, a distance of four miles.
One girl asked for help for Bobby, a little neighbor who had diabetes. The next week she reported that ever since our prayers for him he had been better.
