NOW IN ORDER to answer your question directly, no one is ever benefitted by living in a state of poverty, other than to learn the lessons that poverty teaches. In that way only is God’s will for one; which means the will and purpose of one’s own Higher Self, in order that the lacking qualities can be developed that overcome poverty alone can teach.

If we ask in our prayers for anything that will help others, and really believe that it will be given us, there is no question but that it will be given—but not if self enters into it in any way. It was because your school friend believed that by never asking anything for herself she was doing the Father’s will, and was thereby content to be extremely poor, which she also believed was His will, that such beliefs outmanifested in her life.

With yourself, if it is your desire to live in beauty, to live graciously, and to place yourself in full harmony with the Law, the Law of True Thinking That Law has been shown you clearly in The Way Out, and the Law of Money or of Prosperity will just as surely work for you, when you work with it, as will any other Law.

It means that when you cleanse your mind of all those false beliefs, those thought-pictures created out of ignorance and wrong teaching, and will see instead therein only the truth, which means only the good, the true and perfect things that are in the Kingdom and which are everywhere present and available for those of God’s children who can look through all appearances and see the reality they hide—then all the riches of the Kingdom will be yours, and so fully that you will never have to think about your needs any more. For all needs will be anticipated and provided beforehand, and your only thought will be your Father’s business, which will keep you so engaged that “all things else” will be added without your even knowing it. This will apply equally to health and to any other needed thing.

YES, LOVE is the answer to every problem, if we can only know it. When we can love enough, we find the scales falling from our eyes and we no longer see things as they appear, but as God wants us to see them. When Love possesses the mind, we find that hidden powers of the soul flow forth and enable us to do things undreamed of by the mind.

A great Lover is more than any adept, initiate or master who has not Love. No, one need not go through endless formulas in order to heal and bless, when one has True Love has not time to fool with nor wait for such things.

If you or your husband have found God in each other, why do you not look for and see HIM in your boy—see Him Only? If you will do that and refuse to see anything else, just knowing God is ALL that he is, that knowing will surely free your son from that belief admitted into your consciousness. God is Love; but it is Impersonal Love. It sees only goodness and perfection in everything and in everybody. Can you not do that with your boy? Do you love him that much? Then prove it and see a miracle happen!
