The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | FEBRUARY 1934

PLEASE explain this dream:

I went on a visit to my employer’s home, and while conversing with his daughter, a very nice lady, she asked me to mend a picture frame and taking me to the room where it was, left me to complete the work. On leaving the room I became lost in a maze of other rooms that I wandered through in my endeavor to get outside. Every room was a bedroom, the bed either made or unmade, and all beautifully furnished.

At last I emerged into the open, and joined my hosts on a long veranda, where we were joined by a boy and a girl. The smaller and younger of the two, knelt by my side with her hands on my knees, while the boy sat in the lap of his mother, as they listened to me relate the life story of Jesus.

But you became lost in a maze of rooms, or the different states of consciousness you entered in this higher realm. You finally were able to find your way out into what you thought was the veranda, but it was only into a clearer consciousness where you were able to tell the little girl and boy—the now humble states of your outer mind—the life story of Jesus, or the true meaning of the Christ Life.

From this road, many roads seemed to branch forth into the distance; some narrow and winding, others steep and rocky; all with groups of people walking along them.

I seemed to look about for the right one to follow, and prayed that I would choose the one best for me. Suddenly, immediately
