Sometimes I write them down and find that usually they are definite instructions as to department. Sometimes it seems as if tape were drawn across my forehead on which the words have been written, and then again I will just hear them. And sometimes they will come when I am writing, through my pen; but I know what the pen is going to write before the hand writes it. In fact, the thought is so quick that the hand lags in following.

I first became aware of my teacher, or guru, as he styles himself, about ten years ago. Just recently a friend loaned me a number of your lessons to read. In going over them I was struck with the many similar teachings to which I had been listening. I hadn’t thought very much about this instruction until I read “THE WITNESS,” by Jessie Platts, and “THE MAN MADE PERFECT,” by Mabel Beattie; and then I became interested in certain other teachings, which are received from the astral.

I am told that I was a Hindu in my last earth visit and these spirit people call me by a Hindu name. They tell me that there is a very definite work for me to do, but when, or just where, is not forthcoming. But first I must learn to be absolutely calm in every circumstance and must not be swayed by good or evil, pain or joy. It is rather a large order for one who is naturally sympathetic; nevertheless I keep on trying, and the more I try, the more there seems to be given me to overcome.

We have been having a study group at our home for about two years now, and a healer who was visiting me one evening saw a large silver chain lying all around our living room and she said it seemed to be very brightly polished set with golden rivets. She spoke of it several times but offered no explanation as to what it might mean, so the next day I asked for an explanation with the following result:

“It means abiding to the law of spirit. It means that your face is turned toward the higher way and that the mind is capable of following. It means that a vibration of a higher order is utilizing you and yours for a demonstration in the final crisis which soon is to come. It means assurance of calm and peace and the protection of the higher realms, in order to show the light that is being given to you. You must know that the time is ripe for the eternal verities of truth to stand out and come forth. You are one of the workers of the Lord. Know it—see it—and be one with your I AM. Peace.”
