THE INTERPRETER’S HOUSE

IN THIS Department will be given interpretations of dreams and visions of those needing to know their inner meaning. We reserve for it only those of special interest and helpfulness.

WHAT AND WHY IS SUFFERING?

DURING the last three months there has been a great deal of suffering, both physical and mental. It all seemed to be going along smoothly.

Some three months ago, while riding across the country, something in the heart seemed to snap, and looking, it seemed as though a small door opened and white spiritual substance began to flow forth, the substance being form-less. I watched closely and in a few seconds the substance took form. The form was so radiant, so divine, so far beyond anything that could be constructed by human thought that I examined it with awe.

In it was made plain to me that that perfect form in all his divinity was Me”, the real I. It stood before me and with amazing rapidity the mind assimilated its characteristics, noting facts, such as—its sexless nature, its being absolute Love, its mind and heart being in perfect co-ordination. Then when the brain had assimilated and imprinted the vision on itself, just as suddenly it again became formless and back in the heart, the door seemingly after it.

Immediately after this the trouble started, the physical organism, and the mind both seemed beyond control. It has been a terrific battle, but there has been one peculiar fact throughout—the more intense the pain in the body, the greater the intensity of the light flaming within the head. Perhaps you can gather some significance from the above. I can not explain it unless the higher man is definitely taking over the lower organism.

There have been many other experiences that I do not believe are worth writing about. However here is one that to me was interesting.

One evening when in severe pain, a friend suggested that I lie down, which I did, she sitting on the edge of the bed regulating a heat light. Closing my eyes I became unconscious of this friend’s presence, and in her place sat the Master Jesus. There are no words in the English language to describe Him, so I shall not attempt to do so, except from the depths of His wonderful eyes there seemed to flow forth the Love that sustains all things. This Presence was with me, with His hand upon me for about twenty minutes. When I opened my eyes, I remarked to my friend about it, to which she replied, “I was praying for Him to come and heal you, and He has answered my prayer.”

I am leaving tomorrow for the hospital, where in all probability the body will undergo what is termed a serious operation.

It is being left entirely in His hands, the money and all the rest; and it must be, for the human self knows not where to turn. It is for the best, for I hope through it that I can learn to abide firmly in His wonderful Presence, and from there do His work and find the true place and work He has prepared for me, His servant, to do.
