“The Masters of the Wisdom” mean those “just men made perfect” who comprise the “Great White Brotherhood,” or as it is also termed, “The Great White Lodge.” This Great Brotherhood or Lodge in reality—no matter what is taught to the contrary—is eligible to and consists only of those who have wholly mastered self and in whom the Christ within or the Higher Self has become the only Master, even as Jesus taught: “Neither be ye called masters; for one is your master, even the Christ.” R. V.

Therefore, not until the Christ Self within has brought the human mind and self without into complete and loving subservience to Himself and to the Great Christ Brotherhood of which He is a part—which means to the Christ Consciousness, or in other words, the Kingdom of Heaven—the outer man is not a real disciple or “chela;” for he has not yet passed the stringent spiritual tests which initiate him into the Consciousness of the Brotherhood and make him an Accepted Disciple or Chela.

This symbolizes the first degree of the Lodge, but there are two more degrees before full Mastery is attained, symbolized in the life of Jesus by the Crucifixion of self and the Resurrection.
