time, the volcanoes were active, and the atmosphere became more and more stifling. Darkness was upon the world, for the sun had ceased to give its light and now there was such pitch darkness that no living soul could move about upon the earth.

We had no way of telling how long this darkness lasted, but after a while the intense blackness began to lift from the earth, like the slow dissipation of a heavy fog. The whole earth resembled a battlefield, for there was nothing but devastation, north and south, east and west. And then I began to hear the music of the spheres. It seemed as if millions of trumpets and voices blended with the sound of harps of a thousand strings, echoing and re-echoing, and my heart rejoiced and I lifted my soul to God in prayer and thanksgiving that the light was coming.

Then, once again, the whole planet began to rock, away over to the right and then to the left. Then it righted itself. Instead of turning clear over, it stopped in the center and, in the twinkling of an eye, it was as if two angels had been holding a heavy curtain, and, all at once, that great dark curtain of materiality, which hides the invisible world, was rent from top to bottom, and lo! millions and billions of angelic beings filled the heavens. They were massed together so thickly that we could not see the blue sky, and they came down as low as the tops of the trees and they sang the most glorious anthems of praise to God in the highest.

All those who had lost their bodies and had died in Christ Jesus had been caught up to meet their loved ones, who were also in Christ, and the joy and happiness of this grand reunion of souls was beyond words to describe.

Then, at the close of the singing, Jesus Christ Himself appeared, coming right out of the Sun with a halo of glorious light surrounding His head. He was attired in a long white robe, and was the perfect replica of the beautiful picture in water colors, that I have from the House of Art in New York, while above Him spread a rainbow that formed a complete circle around the earth—representing the fulfillment of the promise of His return. His beautiful form seemed to float in space, so that every eye could see Him in all parts of the world, and on His face was a radiant smile. His hands were outstretched on either side, and he said, “BEHOLD“
