The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | APRIL 1934

WE MAY SEEM to have gotten away from the subject of our text; but in reality we are explaining just how our friend was able to do the things described in her dream, which means in her consciousness; and that the whole thing is not far-fetched and ridiculous, as some might claim, but that she was actually receiving instruction in mental concentration or mind control, and in visualizing or in seeing and feeling herself to be in a certain place or condition of consciousness.

In view of what has been said, you can now see the truth of what the Teacher told her—that it would be just as easy to get out of that body as it was to get in it. All she needed to do was to see and feel herself walking in that body back to where she first saw it, lie down, and then see and feel herself standing outside of it looking down at it, and she would be there.

Remember that your soul is your consciousness, is a center of the One Consciousness. Then as a center of that Consciousness, having free-will, what is there to prevent your moving, seeing anything, having anything, enjoying anything, or doing anything you choose to do in that Consciousness.

The only thing that could prevent is your belief, doubt or fear that you could not do it. Is it not so?

We urge that you put much thought and deep meditation on this article. Stay with it until all of its inner meaning becomes clear, when perhaps there will unfold in your mind the consciousness of some soul faculties and powers of which before you were unaware.
