FROM time to time, we hope to give under this heading, interesting experiences sent in by our Students, or answers to Questions in the Correspondence Course Department, which we think are of general interest.

QUESTION: “Describe what are the stages towards the manifestation of harmony, first of all in yourself.”

ANSWER: “I take each negative condition as it arises in my mind and environment, and correct it, transmuting it into positive good as far as I am able to do. Each negative condition changes to the good as soon as I see the good in my own mind. Christ brings about these conditions in order that I may see them for what they are—nothing in Reality. For example: My children used to quarrel until I thought I couldn’t stand it much longer. They especially quarrelled during meals at table. Every meal was confusion and usually ended in tears. This was about four years ago when I knew little about the Law. I changed this condition by silently setting a place at the table for Christ. I set it up, as I would for any individual, asking Him to take charge of everything as I could do nothing more with the situation. At the table, I felt and knew Christ was there sitting with us and would bring about perfect harmony. This is one of the most wonderful things that happened to me in the matter of harmony. I noticed an immediate change. Our meals are now delightful. They are peace: they are love and gratitude. To this day, my daughters do not know why they stopped quarrelling. They not only stopped quarrelling at meals, they are the best of friends, loyal and true to each other.” —W. B. C.

QUESTION: “Who do you understand to be the One who brought you to your present state of unfoldment? How are you supposed to find and know Him? Just how is He the Christ of you?”

ANSWER: “The One who has brought me to my present state of consciousness is God within myself working through that which has always been there but which has not been realized in my mind consciousness. ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness,’ that is, become conscious of the Truth within myself. Because I believe He is First and Last, the Beginning and the End of all things for me.” —R. D. E.

“I am more than delighted with the Definitions you give in the beginning of the WAY OUT COURSE. They are the best I have ever had, and they give me a much clearer realization of each and every phase that they explain. They are filling me with confidence, for now I feel I can explain to others what they mean in our lives and be sure of myself. How I thank God for leading me to you at this time. I do need this training. I am one of those you mention who had never thought for himself, and I haven’t learned to listen and heed the inner guidance enough. I will try my best to learn.” —B. W.

QUESTION: “Give an example of how such a creation is brought into manifestation.”

ANSWER: “The example I am giving is rather long in telling but it was such a surprise to me that I was deeply interested.

When I first began to learn that all substance could be, and in fact is, continually being molded by thought, I was also taught that one could have anything one wished. As the great possibilities of this idea became apparent, I saw the danger of the misuse and abuse of this Creative Power. As I am, or so it seemed to me, the possessor of all the faults in the category, I began to watch myself very closely, to correct as many of these faults as I could, letting the consciousness manifestation of substance alone for the time being. I was aware of course, to some extent, that one always molds substance, but I did not try consciously to bring forth any particular creation except when someone asked me to help them, or my health was involved. I said repeatedly, ‘I want to be sure I will use this great power rightly before I try to use it. Father, give me the understanding when I am purified and obedient to you.’ I had in mind particularly the use of it to bring abundance of supply and especially money into my experience.

In the discussion of which I spoke in my last letter to you, the criticism had especially to do with money. The feeling being that students who were so earnestly trying to do God’s Will should not be deprived of the supply needed. So I began to study more carefully this question of supply and turned again to question eleven in Lesson Four of the WAY OUT COURSE to read your answer. Suddenly the words ‘the Cause being the Creative Activity within man to which Jesus referred, as the Father in Heaven,’ stood out in letters an inch high. The understanding burst on me of how to use the Creative Activity, and of the rightness of its use.

I have no words to express my gratitude to you for your patient pointing of the way. I know the picture, or that part of it at least, in which I have asked to have the power revealed to me only when I would use it rightly. Now I can go ahead in the making of a picture which will bring the supply it is right to have, in perfect assurance that it is God’s Will being done.

Another phase of this experience is the way we so unknowingly mold substance. I did not realize I was making a picture when I asked to Understand only I would use the creative power in accordance with God’s Will.” —A. D. C.
