THE WIGSIE FAIRIES

IN THE Kingdom of Wigsum there was much fluttering and excitement, for Prince Wigsie had obtained permission from his royal father to visit the earth, and to do so he must assume the form of an animal. All the little Wigsum Fairies were greatly interested although they were not supposed to think seriously about it until the final moment of his going; for, you see, their thoughts were so powerful that if they even thought of their Wigsie as a dog he would immediately become one.
Every Prince of Wigsum is allowed one trip to earth and five wishes. The first wish he used for his entrance to earth and the last for his departure. The other three were his very own, and what he did with those three proved whether he was worthy to be a Wigsum Prince.
You see, the Wigsums are the Good Thought Fairies and they are able to do wonderful deeds because they always think good thoughts. Every Wigsum knows, the minute he allows a wrong or bad thought to enter his mind, he loses some of his power, and then too he is expelled from the kingdom and has to work long and faithfully to come back. Of course it is not hard to be good in Wigsum Kingdom because everyone is thinking right thoughts.
Prince Wigsie had waited patiently for the day to arrive which the King had set for his great adventure, and now at last it was here and all was hustle and bustle.
There was a royal dinner with many good things to eat, and how wonderful that no one had to cook it; for all that the Wigsums’ had to do was think of what they wanted, and immediately it was before them. They had a grand parade before the palace and they all brought their gifts to the little Prince and each gift was a good thought for him to take with him. Then the King and Queen came to the top of the long flight of marbled steps while all their subjects gathered around and cheered.
The Queen lightly touched her son on the shoulder with her fairy wand and said, “You will disappear from Wigsum and appear among men on earth as a beautiful white horse. And
