THE WORD OF THE MESSENGER
AS MERCURY dwelleth near the Sun, so I abide in the heart of my Lord. My feet run upon His errands, and by my mouth are His words spoken. Many are my journeys; I have sojourned in far countries and have crossed wide rivers. Many houses have I built and afterwards demolished, and now I have built me yet another house in your midst, O ye sons of men.
I speak the words of Him Who hath sent me forth; He is the Guide, the Instructor, the Keeper of the Mysteries. His words are sure and fail not. He is the Lighter of Lamps in the Temple of the Most High. Ye are the Temples, and the lamp is the light of Truth within you.
Give heed to my words, for they shall stand, but those things to which ye cling shall not stand; they shall melt in your hands like wax. I herald the new Day, and great is the heat of that Day; in it all things shall be changed. Your boundaries shall be removed, your treasures shall melt away, and all your works shall run together even as metal runneth in the melting-pot.
Hear ye the words I speak, and fear not, for though destruction cometh to many, yet for you is the Day of Redemption. Ye shall come out of the House of Bondage, that House which is Egypt, which is even the body consciousness.
I am the Messenger of the Fire, the Messenger of the Whirlwind, the Messenger of the day of Adjustment. The Fire burneth out the dross, that the silver and the gold may remain. By the Wind ye shall mount to the heavens—if ye be the children of discernment. In the day of Adjustment ye shall come into your own—even
