UPHEAVELS, strife and desolation ever precede progress and universal desire for unity and peace; so, likewise within the Soul there must come conflict and strife and it recognizes its unity with the spiritual forces within and around and enters the harbour of peace.

If you are content with life, then spiritual peace meaneth naught and it is not until the Soul is aroused that you understand that the life of the Soul is of greater moment than the life and death of the physical body, though each being a part of the whole they should work together in perfect harmony, yet so oft are they separated.

When your Soul liveth it reacheth out for enlightenment, seeking a Beacon to guide it, a Beacon by whose aid it can soar. Then do you become alert and alive to the knowledge that life means more than physical endeavours, or material prosperity and mental attainments, but is a welding together of the whole, which must result in further development and illumination.

You will find many Beacons by whose light you will be guided higher and higher, ere you find rest and peace. Let no man obscure your vision nor bind you down to follow any one path. To reach the Heights you must soar, to soar you must be free, free from creeds and dogma, free from borrowed wisdom and the shackles of book lore, free to gain your own freedom which comes from the Spirit of Wisdom, which is the Spirit of Truth.

Be not like sheep who browse by the wayside placid and content, willing to follow any master or leader. Use your own reason and judgment e’en though you make mistakes and find you have to retrace your steps, readjust your vision. Better that, for you will at least have learned a lesson and will apply it when next you choose a path.

Man has so many lessons to learn and unlearn ere he attains a breathing space and gains a strong foothold.
