other Eastern countries, and anyone who cares to make himself proficient in this knowledge and in the practice of the powers can learn to do similar tricks. And there are many of such tricks shown by wayside fakirs in some of these oriental countries.

One of the more common “miracles” is to sow a mango seed in the soil, which is first cultivated and watered, and then in a short time the audience will see a green shoot push up out of it, grow slowly, put out branches and leaves, and finally a blossom, and then the fruit growing from it and ripening, right before their eyes.

This rarely takes place other than in the mind of the fakir, but there are Adepts who can do all this, and can cause an actual stock with its ripe fruit to grow, and both can be felt and handled and the fruit eaten.

This of course is by the use of the law in a similar way to that used by Jesus—going a step farther than the fakirs, however, and causing the invisible to come forth out of the invisible mental realm into the visibility of the physical. But that requires an advanced type of mental ability and a higher and greater power of will than the usual fakir possesses or can acquire.

The final illustration is one described in the April, 1934 issue of this Magazine on page 24, where two men levitated themselves across a chasm fifty feet wide, telling how it took them “a few hours to make our bodily state fit to allow of this miraculous transportation phenomenon performed by pure mental effort; and then in a moment of time we were both landed safely on the other side.”

The mental action in this case is very similar to that of the fakir’s just described, supplemented by a higher understanding that actually annihilates space.

What took several hours was to get the body and the mind still enough so that they both were sufficiently responsive to the will. Then when the mind was ready so that all of its interest and attention were focused upon the idea of being on the other side, and it could begin to see and feel itself there in the physical body, that moment would the Adept be there.

This can be further explained by “knowing the truth that all—the two men, their bodies, the chasm—were but ideas in consciousness; that there is no time, space, substance or separation in
