A DREAM EXPERIENCE

By E. T. J.

Related From The Soul Consciousness.

WHILE I, a soul, am dwelling in the physical body, I abide in my outermost consciousness. In this consciousness I build ideas into thought-forms, concepts and beliefs, and exchange them with other souls like myself; and our life in this consciousness consists solely in accepting and rejecting thought-forms. While this process of accepting and rejecting goes on I find I store all accepted thought-forms in my inner consciousness called soul memory, where they remain subject to call or need either in the inner or the outer life.

While in a half sleep state one night, my mind became conscious of a dizzy feeling—which was nothing new; it had experienced that many times before when seemingly falling through space—but really when returning to its body consciousness after some nocturnal unconscious experience, therefore the body did not resist me. For during waking hours my outer mind remembers my saying to it, “If it happens again, do not be afraid; we are in the Christ Service and nothing can harm us.” So my mind remembering this took on a nonresistant attitude and relaxed. The dizzy feeling lasted for half a minute or so, when my body became still and I found myself in a room near a bed. I felt as light as air and I had to will to stay down, or else I would have floated up to the ceiling. My mind’s first thought was, “I must be out of my body.”

This was its first experience of freeing its consciousness from the physical body, and finding it difficult to balance this new aerial body I looked about the room for support. I didn’t feel weak, but I couldn’t seem to gain full control over my body’s action, my legs were light
