“A MAN WITH A MASK”
A WONDERFUL man From a beautiful land Where things are just as they seem Took passage one day In a very queer way To a country made out of a dream.
Now in this new country He wore a strange guise As everyone else did, you see. And try as he would He never quite could Be just as he wanted to be.
For the people would meet As they passed on the street In this very queer land of the mask. They looked at him too, And yet never knew That he was a friend with a mask.
They looked at the mask But never did ask About the real man struggling within. For no one thought That the garment thus wrought Was the discolored garment of sin.
So the friends from above, United by love And the bonds of the one parenthood, For many a day Their ignorant way Passed on all unmindful of good.
There’s a beautiful land, O very real land, And it shines with a splendid light; Its a very dear land And a very near land, And it beckons back thru the night.
There no man weeps And no man sleeps The sleep of the dark unknown; Each plays his part With a gallant heart And all injustice long has flown. —Laura Collins.
THE SUBTLE WORLD
“IN ALL religions, the one departing from Earth has been accorded an accompanying Guardian in the aspect of a Saint, Angel, or departed relative. Thus was affirmed the existence of a world beyond the grave and the need of a guide.”
May not the current researches of Prof. MacDougal of Duke University, of Dr. Carrell of the Rockefeller Institute, of Prof. Milliken, be knocking at the door of this subtle world with the instruments of twentieth century science?
Christ, Buddha, Moses—all great Teachers have proclaimed this truth, yet humanity is reluctant to accept any precept beyond coarse human sensation in examination of its own soul. However it quite willingly submits its material life to the instruments of science which measure and observe in vibrations and dimensions beyond common sensation.
“Why do I not see nor hear, if there exists an Invisible World? The Invisible World is, in reality, highly visible, when the eye is not obstructed. In the progression of worlds it is already adequately condensed. This means that the physical eye is so much cruder, that it cannot even discern the next stage of the bodily transformation.”
Let all researches be encouraged, for, “The linking of the consciousness of the Subtle World to the consciousness of those who reincarnate, will be the next conquest. Because Be-ness is in spirit, in space, between worlds; and on Earth there are but messengers of the transmutation of energies and the transformation of matter. Thus, the duration of the lives of those who reincarnate is nothing compared to the existences in all other conditions.”
