I IMAGINED in consciousness that I was standing on the left side of a vast Dais outside of Washington, U. S. A. The Dais held about one thousand men mostly consisting of political officials, it being the occasion of the election of a President.

Outside this Dais in a vast domain were congregated about two millions of people, with loud-speakers all over the vast area.

When the last votes arrived a very splendid man arose and lifting up his right hand announced that Mr. ………… had been elected President of this great Nation of America. He then gave a wonderful oration of the duty of the citizens of America to the Nation and to their International relationships, and of their duty to the President.

Then he asked, “Will you have Mr. ………… to be your President?” (I cannot remember the name). And a great shout was heard that was as one voice. The question was asked three times, with the same unanimous assent.

Then the man of the Dais asked in a loud voice: “Who will you have to be your King?” And beyond my power to express there arose from that vast concourse a glad response which I will never forget—“The Lord Jesus Christ!”—three times. Oh the reverberation—then a pause. And then the great mass of humans began to sing: “All hail, the Power of Jesus’ Name; let angels prostrate fall.”

And that instant a terrific crash took place in the sky, which was split in every direction and the light increased tenfold. Thousands of angels joined in the song, “Let Angels prostrate fall.”

Shall I forget that music? On earth I had never heard anything like it. It is reverberating in my soul ever since. To give you an idea of the tone, it was like what Adelaide Proctor records in The Lost Chord. “I struck one chord of music like the sound of the great Amen.”

It may be that Death’s bright angel may speak in that chord again; it may be that only in Heaven I shall hear that Grand Amen.
