The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | AUGUST 1934

and shut a hand that has been tightly closed for years, or to bring about separate movements of the fingers, which are all involuntary.

When a patient is suffering from nervous depletion, the Power finds out the depleted area, and sometimes causes a remarkable series of movements, exercising and stretching many parts of the body. And this is done with such grace and perfection as to compare with the ancient classic movements. In curvature of the spine in children it would cause marvelous movements, reminding one of ancient Egypt with the same rhythmic action.

Where ligaments are torn and stretched, the Force induces involuntary movements that relax and contract the muscles as required. In displacement of the internal organs, the movements are a never-ending source of wonder. In uterine conditions a perfect balance is induced with hands on the floor and the rest of the body in midair, allowing the misplaced organs to adjust themselves. In these cases the movements are marvelous to witness. And the movements in pregnancy are beyond description. The results obtained could not possibly be realized without the help of a Higher Power.

(Many more descriptions of remarkable cases cured follow, but we have given enough to indicate the nature of the healing Power. She then adds:)

IT IS NOT the healing of one individual by another; I believe it to be an invisible Force flowing through the healer to the patient. For when broadcasting the Power, which I am doing daily, to England and to our own states, the patients get movements the same as when I am present and lay my hands on them. In Christ’s time in fact a Force went from Him to the woman who touched the edge of His garment. And her faith made her whole. Undoubtedly faith has much to do with the results that manifest in my patients.

For myself I would welcome any research work science would care to make. I would loath to be thought queer, because of what I have stated. Though only those would think it who know little or nothing of the work. I feel sure that when we come to understand fully the law we will have solved many, if not all, of the appalling problems of disease.
