So tell me—are there iniquities, is there anything to choose, is there any use to prayers and meditations? You may or may not have encountered these questions before, but these problems are facing me, and to me they represent the very foundations of my spiritual life, and therefore deeply concern my future ongoing.

Your letter received and read with deep interest. If you have read and studied all that you state, the time has indeed arrived for digestion and explanation. The questions you ask are natural, for one who really thinks—that is, one who meditating upon these truths seeks to put them to practical use.

You have asked a lot of vital questions, and at the same time have stated some eternal truths. In order to answer your questions we must restate some of these truths in different words.

God is indeed All in all. There is only His Consciousness, His Life, His Love, His Power, His Nature in expression everywhere, in everything and in every person on earth. This means that He is All that man is. Man of himself is nothing, can have nothing, can do nothing. It is God within him doing all, growing him as He is growing any tree or animal, pushing forth His Consciousness, Life, Love, Power and Nature in him, just as fast as he can bear it and be strong.

And if you can see it, it is His growing life and consciousness that causes man to do all the wrong things that he does at the suggestion of others, of wrong teachings, of environment or of his lower nature, things that he does, if you can see it, in order to teach his human mind that they are not the things that will bring harmony, health, strength, abundance and happiness into his life.

But man as man cannot realize all this as yet. His human mind thinks in terms of separation and therefore it believes God is apart from him—having all of these powers that you state—but for some reason his mind cannot accept its truth because it cannot comprehend it.

Therefore the necessity of teachers, books and teachings. For what purpose? To teach man’s mind that thinks itself separate the truth, that it may be lifted up into the consciousness of its oneness with the All-Mind, Life, Love, Power and Nature, which is God and which is His One and Only Self.
