The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | AUGUST 1933

life, for it is the life, intelligence and power in them that holds their atoms together. In all living things that One Life is clearly evident; we call it God’s Life and Mind. Now, if you can only see it, that Life and Mind is ever seeking to express Itself perfectly through every avenue of life in the world; the only thing that hinders it, being mortal mind’s wrong belief in being different and apart from God’s Mind, and its belief in sin, impurity, weakness and disease. If man did away such wrong ideas and beliefs in his mind, which naturally influence and affect the consciousness of every cell of his body, God’s Life would express Itself perfectly through him and man would be outwardly in God’s image and likeness, even as he is in the soul realm as God originally created him.

After grasping this fully, try to see this Mind and Life of God, which knows all things and grows all things, which has all power and love and is ever trying to express the perfection of God’s nature in and through everyone, as the Mind that is in your friend—the only life that is in her, and that it is actually God living in her body, and not that imperfect, impure and diseased life that she and you and the doctors and others believe is in her. It is all these lying thoughts or beliefs that have become so crystallized in the consciousness of the cells of her body, that the light of God’s Life in her can shine through but very dimly, if at all, in its effort to express Itself; yet It is there all the time waiting to come forth perfectly the moment you, along with us, recognize the truth and thus make an entering channel through which God’s Life and Mind in us can reach in her, and thus start with Its Light to drive out the darkness now filling her consciousness.

The truth is the truth, and a lie is but the opposite of a truth, or is the absence of it. The truth is that which is so, and a lie is that which is not so, or is not. This lie of Arthritus—this dark shadow, this nothing—that now fills her mind, because her mind has its back turned to the light of truth, is what her mind sees as her own dark beliefs. If her mind would but turn around and face the light of truth, there would be no shadow, no disease, no imperfection, in that light of knowing, and all things would appear in their reality of being—good and perfect, as they were created in the beginning, always were and always will be.

We want you to read this letter to your friend, or better yet, give it to her, along with the yellow card, “I ALONE AM,” that
