The Inner Life

Those of a spiritual nature as a general rule are able to reach the minds of seekers by inspiring them with uplifting and helpful thoughts, which the student of course thinks come from his own mind. But sometimes in exceptional cases when the student is of an unusual type that can be taught best and prepared for the giving out of special teaching through automatic writing, where the actual words can be given, such method is used by disciples of the Great Ones of the Brotherhood. But usually it gives way later to direct inspiration, where the student is “impulsed” to write down the words that he feels urging for expression; but the hand and arm are not actually controlled.

As stated before, such control in automatic writing, and likewise direct inspiration, are used by both well and evilly intentioned ones in the inner realms, from the lowest up to the higher planes; but never automatic writing by anyone in the Kingdom plane of the Brotherhood, despite what may be claimed by those using such method. The reason for this is easy to understand; to make direct use of the arm and hand the one doing so has to be in the inner realm closest to the physical. In inspiration that is not necessary, for the mind alone is used, and anyone on the same or a higher plane of consciousness can inspire the mind with good or helpful thoughts. On the other hand, to inspire evil thoughts one has to be naturally of an evil nature or to lower one’s consciousness temporarily to the plane of evil.

It is all plainly shown in radio. Let us assume that the upper half of the dial marking the higher wave lengths carries only good, helpful and spiritual thoughts of various degree indicated by the wave lengths; and on the lower half the bad, harmful and destructively evil thoughts are
