similarly indicated. Exactly so are our minds constituted—into whatever wave length of consciousness we tune our thoughts, will we receive what is on that wave length. We can tune into the highest Spiritual or the lowest evil, according to our desire or natural inclinations, and what is “on the air” at the time, we will receive. This has been proven by many, and you also can prove it—if you can still your mind so you can receive “what is on the air.”
WHAT we are trying to show is that unless one is seeking only the light of Truth for the purpose of improving one’s self and helping others, one had better not attempt to open the door to the invisible world through automatic writing or any other means, including sitting for development in any form. For the door once opened it cannot be controlled except by the spiritualized will of one who has thoroughly trained and disciplined the mind and made it into an obedient servant.
Many have learned this to their sorrow, having undergone untold mental suffering before they gained such control—after opening the door through curiosity and following the advice of evil or ignorant would-be teachers, who sought to lead others to the Spiritual realms they foolishly supposed they had found.
The fact is, the truly Spiritual realm is only to be found far above in the Kingdom of Heaven, and only those find it who have long ago yielded self and all its desires to their Father in Heaven, so that their Christ nature now alone rules. All others are on much lower planes, indicated by the extent to which Love and Unselfishness rule in their lives, ranging from the abstract and concrete mental realms down through the realms of emotion and desire.
