The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | NOVEMBER 1934
But what is humanity’s—ordinary man’s—consciousness? It is only that dark cloud in man’s mind separating the earthly animal nature of him from the Sun within his consciousness.
In other words, when man’s attention and interest face about to the Sun or God within, he is in and becomes the Light or Consciousness of God; even as when facing earthly things he is on and of the earth. And when man thus faces the Sun of God, Its Light enables him to see clearly everything in the Light—see the Truth of everything—that all is good, pure, beautiful and perfect. This is called entering the Kingdom and abiding in its Consciousness.
Clear thinking then is but the stilling of the mind and allowing the Light of Divine Mind to show it all that it seeks to know about a given subject.
In the next article we will consider just what is thinking—just what man does when he thinks.

AWAKE!
By V. T. R.
I am waking up!
I hear The Call—faint and far away,
But clear, and high, and sweet;
Like the tone of the flute
Of a shepherd on some mountain top
Over-shadowing the green valley
Where I rest on the bank of the crystal stream
To pray.
Hark! He is Calling, Calling,
Calling me awake,—
Arousing me from slumber of the age of night
To participate in the Great Morning
Of the quickened Souls, rejoicing
In The Light,
I hear, I answer, O Christ!
I obey Thy Call,—
Lead me nearer, even nearer
To where Thou Art—my ALL.
