The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | AUGUST 1934

with a selfish scheme of some kind. I just realize that somehow or other the Christ is working out His purpose in this activity, and I know that results to His liking will have to follow.

For the first time in years I can say that I am really enjoying business activity. I no doubt am being forced to see that the purpose of the Christ is being served in all branches of human activity.

And here I was trying to sidestep the business world because I could not see Christ in it. Now I am finding Him active in the midst of a world of seeming business depression!

——————

BECAUSE there are many thinkers and students of truth who feel just as our friend in the above felt about modern business, and have accordingly found that business would not work for one who frowned upon and condemned it, we thought this experience would prove enlightening to most of our readers, some of whom might benefit from it themselves, while others might want to present it to friends in truth who had formerly been successful business men.

Remember, in the article “Money, the Servant of Man,” in the May issue, it was stated that all pure ideas are given to man to serve him. Business is such a pure idea. What it has become is only what man has made it by his thinking and believing it to be. Of course pure business cannot serve a man who does not believe in it. “Whatever a man thinks and holds in his consciousness as being so, outmanifests in his life and affairs.”

If a man sees and knows his business in its purity as the supplying of others with what they need and will be beneficial to them, and holds to that idea while engaged in his business, keeping all negative thoughts out of his mind, business will surely serve him and make him successful.

It is Christ, the Spirit of God—Loving Service, that is behind every such idea and causes Spiritual Substance, which Loving Service actually is, to outmanifest in material ways as prosperity, success, and an abundance of all good things. —The EDITOR.
