WE ARE apparently like a good many other students along the Path, as we are having our financial problems to work out. Both wife and myself realize that we should have done a good deal more than we have to assist in the Work, but when one is up against practically a starvation state of affairs you do not have much with which to help.

By the grace of God we have been supplied with the bare necessities of food, shelter and raiment. These have come to us sometimes in remarkable ways just when they were most needed—usually without the use of money.

For years I have been unsuccessful at business, mostly because I did not believe in the Mammon system and had no particular respect or liking for it. So very naturally the returns gradually fell away. Only recently have I been given the viewpoint which will permit me to be successfully active in any line that I am called upon to enter.

This view is that the Christ Spirit is the motivating and active principle behind all expression, whether it is business or any other activity.

Shortly after receiving this idea, a friend of mine called me on the phone and asked if I was employed, and upon learning that I was not he asked me to visit him in his office to look into a proposition in which he thought I would be interested.

As a result I am now connected with the outstanding brokerage firm of the city and am busy calling upon jobbers, manufacturers and large dealers, and am in the midst of things as they are today in the business world. Believe it or not I am a busy man. I am beginning to make money and as soon as possible we will more than make up for our slowness in showing our appreciation for what the Work has done and is doing for us.

In the forefront of my mind continually is the impression that I am in Christ’s business, and that it is the Christ that is employing me. The dirtiness of small business minds seems to pass me by, and I now do not become offended when confronted
