Dante and you—to see all people and things beautiful.” Little Sonny Benny begged him not to go, but King knew he must. He had used all his wishes, and it is not wise for a fairy to be in the land of mortals without a good supply of wishes.
The next morning before Father and Mother Dante were awake Benny jumped up and looked for King, but he was gone; and then he thought of the instructions the horse had given him, so he limped to the well. As he expected, the little girl was there. He looked at her and declared she was straight and beautiful. And as he uttered the ords, he immediately became so himself; as did the little stranger.
Benny ran to tell his parents the good news, and explain what King had told him. The good couple were greatly perturbed over the loss of their lovely horse, but were always consoled when they looked at their handsome son. Mother Dante said that King was a fairy in disguise, but Father Dante insisted he was an angel; and she, being a wise woman, did not argue but agreed with him. And both were right, because fairies and angels often come in the form of good thoughts.
As the Dante family went on their way they accomplished many wonderful things, for they saw everything so beautiful it immediately became so. The flowers bloomed when they looked at them, trees grew greener, and people became happier because of them.
And back in the Kingdom of Wigsum, little Prince Wigsie sat at the feet of his royal mother, relating his travels and adventures when he visited the earth as a horse. After he had finished, she assured him that she was well pleased and quite sure he had earned his right to be called a Wigsum fairy prince and rule in the Kingdom of Good Thoughts; because he had proved that even on earth a good thought is all the power there is.
