simply lift up our hearts and give thanks for his Presence, and He is with us. He is round about us and within us, for He is part of our being; in fact, He is all that we are. In Him we live and move and have our being, and the recognition of His Presence makes all the difference between our ideas of Heaven and Hell.

The more we think of God, the more we contemplate His Goodness and Mercy, the more fully does He possess our souls and bodies and the more like Him do we become, as we try in our poor, imperfect way to imitate His works of love and service to all living beings about us. “Whatsoever ye do to the least of these ye do it unto me,” says the Christ, who had identified himself with God.

“But,” you may say, as others have said, “I will become impractical if I go too far in that. I must maintain my own place in the world. It is too hard for me to imitate the Christ.” The Jews said that Jesus was too idealistic to be practical. The teachings of Jesus have stood the test of centuries.

God is the most practical being in the Universe, since He made all that is practical. The discords, the lack, the imperfections, the inharmony and unhappiness of the world exist because the world does not want to believe that God is sufficient for all its needs. God uses people to carry out His plans; but when people fail, even the stones will cry up and proclaim the truth about His purposes. Milton says so beautifully, “God does not need either man’s works or His own gifts.” He who is attuned to God may ask what he will, and it shall be brought to pass.

THOSE who have followed the directions given in the November issue, how to open the mind to spiritual truth, no doubt have already made progress in recognizing that spiritual presences are about them. Some may have seen or heard these spiritual messengers or teachers; others may not have been conscious of any change whatever. Sometimes the greatest spiritual progress is made without any consciousness of change. Yet there has been a change for each and every one who has consciously invited God to enter into his mind.
