and governmental systems, through revolutionary changes rushed through Congress, with promises of similar changes in our farm, commerce, railroad, power and other systems.

Never before in the memory of any person living has any President been able so to convince the people, and more important the Congress of the United States, of the necessity of such changes (showing how universal had become the knowledge of it), and to give him the power to put such changes into effect. And then to come forward immediately with plans that almost everyone accepts as solutions of present evils, and to rush these plans into active operation! Such are so unusual as to seem almost too good to be true.

Surely it inspires in all minds that here must be the leader that the country in its great need has called forth; in response to that law which has always manifested, that “when the people are ready, the leader appears;” similar to that other phase of the same law—“When the pupil is ready, the Teacher appears.”

Everything is pointing to the possibility of our President being such a leader, and if he proves to be such, one who is wholly selfless, seeking only the good of all people, whom he has been elected to serve, and that he cannot be prevailed upon to favor any one man, financial group, political clique, government or nation, as against others, then indeed may our people look forward to a period of respite from the hardships and tribulations they have been enduring, and may even expect a return of the better times all now hope are in store for us. Therefore we urge that all our readers pray for him, as he asked us to do, in one of his pre-election speeches over the radio.
