WE HEAR much these days about Peace, its desirability, its necessity for the good of civilization, and the strenuous efforts apparently being made by many different organizations formed for preventing War and preserving peace at all costs.

It is not the purpose of this article to belittle or discourage such efforts, for we know that most of those enlisting in these movements have only the highest motives and sincerely think they are working for the best interests of their country, believing that those who are back of these movements are equally sincere and that good only can result from their efforts.

But we wish to present some thoughts to our readers which perhaps they have not as yet considered, and which will prevent their joining some of these movements with their eyes shut to what they may be called upon to pledge themselves to do; such as agreeing, if war comes, not to fight, even though authorities compel it.
