And will they also forget our Lord’s injunction to “Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added”? Above all, will they forget His definite command, “Neither be ye called masters; for one is your Master, even Christ”?
Those who are students of the Impersonal teachings know what this means—that the Christ within, the God Self of every man, is and must be his only Master; and all that any outer Teacher seeks, as Saint Germain seeks in the book, is to help students find this God Self; to point them ever within to Him in selfless Love, and to stay with them until they find Him—when the Teacher knows that his work is finished.
For when they find Him, they will know, even as Jesus promised His disciples, that He, as the Comforter or Holy Spirit of God, will teach them all things, and bring all things to their remembrance that Jesus taught them when He was on earth.
Yes, all men need teachers, but Jesus tells us we have our Teacher within, whose assent we must first get to what any teacher without tells us, or we may be led astray.
If the Comforter or Holy Spirit, our God Self, is within every man, the same as He is within every Teacher or Master—for we are told He is “the Light which lighteth every man,” then it becomes the duty of every man to find that Self, and of every Teacher to help him find it; for only then can that Oneness with God—that Oneness with Humanity, of which every man is a part—be brought about in man’s consciousness, and which eventually must be.
And Love, Love alone, is the way. And Love is the I AM; Love is the Christ; Love is God. Only Love can any man come into the Righteousness of God—can find the way to the Kingdom of the Father’s Consciousness. Let no man think he can find it in any other way.
Who are the real Masters? Only our dear Brothers in Spirit Who have conquered the sense of matter and of self and have attained Divinity, by knowing the truth of “Who they are and of What they are a part.” They are the Divine Teachers and Helpers of humanity, our Elder Brothers, Who live and work only
