The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | DECEMBER 1934

cannot help but be felt by every reader who is at all sensitive. And there can be no question as to the great benefit that will be derived by every earnest student who faithfully and persistently puts these truths to practice in his daily life.

But we cannot but wonder how many will do this who read. For because of the glamour surrounding these truths, produced by the extraordinary experiences through which the author passed; his meeting the Master Saint Germain; the latter’s wonderful knowledge and power; the hidden and mysterious communities at Mt. Shasta and near Tucson; and the possibility of others contacting Saint Germain and these communities,—there is a grave question if most students will not become so enamored of such possibility that they will forget that a careful study and application of the truths in the book alone will fit and prepare them to contact such a Master or Teacher. Listen to what Saint Germain himself says on the subject:

“The attitude of one who wishes to work in conscious cooperation with the Ascended Host should not be—I wish I could go to them for instruction; but rather—I will so purify, discipline, and perfect myself, become such an expression of Divine Love, Wisdom and Power that I can assist in their work; then I will automatically be drawn to them. I will love so constantly, so infinitely, so divinely, that the very intensity of my own Light will open the way for them to accept me.”

“Every individual on earth is free each moment to ‘Arise and go unto the Father’—his God Self, if he will but turn his back upon the creation of the human mind and hold his attention on the only Source in the Universe from which peace, happiness, abundance and perfection can come.”

HEREIN lies the test that will be brought to each reader of this book. Will readers heed the Teacher’s injunction above and do all that he states must be done before they can come into conscious co-operation with the Ascended Host of Light? Or will they at once begin to plan to go to Mt. Shasta, or to get in touch with the author, thinking he can give them some shortcut to the Ascended Ones or show them some special way of contacting Saint Germain?
