thought-picture, so that it becomes more and more real and tangible in his consciousness; and then he finally believes it to be such.
And what he believes then becomes a living thing to him and seems to manifest before his eyes. But being pure consciousness, all he can see or perceive are the thought-forms he has thus created and vitalized into being in his mind, which he now thinks is separate from the One Consciousness, because of all the separate things he sees in his consciousness.
WE HAVE pictured for you in a simple concrete way just how man creates by thinking, showing how man builds up in his mind beliefs that in time become real to him. Of course this applies to everything in man’s world; explains how it came into being and what is its being—just a thought-form, having no more actual reality than the “wind after it ceases to blow, the fire when it goes out, and the water that evaporates. What are they and where do they go?
The proof that the things in man’s world are not real is in the fact that when man takes his mind off of certain things, he no longer sees them in consciousness or thinks of them, they disappear from his life and his world. That has happened to everyone.
But it is not our purpose further to illustrate this law other than to apply it to our subject of “healing.” If your mind has been prepared, by what has been shown, to see how, by wrong thinking—that is, building untrue thought-forms about a force or vibration felt in the body, the thing thought outmanifests, you are ready to believe that one can be healed by changing the thought-picture in the mind to what you want to manifest.
That is the simple truth plainly stated. Many who read, we realize, know this truth, but are unable to prove and demonstrate it. Some have demonstrated it for others, but have failed when trying to use it for themselves.
There is only one reason for such failure—they have not changed the picture; they are still holding the old thought-form in the mind, and feeding it with their fear or concern about it. The moment they can take their mind wholly off of that picture and see and hold in their consciousness only the picture of per-
