The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | MARCH 1933
warning voices that are beginning to sound from every side.
Technocracy is but one of these voices, and it is serving its purpose in making men think. But because its aims and its purpose are wholly mechanical or scientific, and therefore material—for it is leaving God out of its scheme—it will accomplish little and will fail to discover the true solution that will free the race from its present predicament.
Something far greater and more inclusive will have to be given to man to set him thinking, and this Magazine is contributing its portion. Man must turn to God, the Source of all his ideas, with a humble and contrite heart, if he would have pointed him the way out of the results of his own foolishness and weakness. In the words we have voiced we know those who listen and heed their import and turn within to that Source, earnestly seeking to be shown the way out, will not be denied, but will be given something that will be for them of far greater value than anything they have ever received from any outer source.
It is our earnest conviction that the only solution will be found in something approaching or wholly like what was shown in the article, “Allegory No. 2,” in the February issue of this Magazine. Witness how in many cities in many states of the union the people are taking the solving of this question into their own hands by forming Barter and Scrip Plans, organizing Exchanges and Back to the Farm Movements, independent of the Government and the Banks. How long will it take those in authority to see what must be done—that they must face the issue squarely and put their best minds to solving it?
