“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

“And He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the one end of heaven to the other.”—Matthew 24:29-31.

Evidently immediately after the tribulations are over there will manifest some remarkable disturbance of the heavenly structure that will cause unusual darkness on the earth accompanied by an unprecedented display of psychic forces; after which “the sign of the Son of Man” will appear in the heavens, and following that He, Himself, will be seen “coming in the clouds with power and great glory.” Then—“when ye shall see these things, know that the end is near, even at the doors.”

This can only mean that from the midst of heaven, opened by this tremendous event, will pour forth the great power of God’s Love to such effect that the veil separating heaven and earth in men’s consciousness will be lifted for the time being, permitting “all the tribes of the earth to see the Son of Man and all His heavenly angels coming in the clouds with power and great glory.” But the time for His descent to earth is not yet, for does He not say, “When ye shall see all these things, know that the end is near, even at the doors.”

In the meantime His angels “with a great sound of a trumpet shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from the one end of heaven to the other;” which means the souls of all those of earth or of those no longer in the flesh who are His chosen ones to be with Him at this time. Paul tells us, “Then we, which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, so shall we ever afterward be with the Lord.”—1 Thes. 4:17.

This quite plainly indicates that the Lord does not then descend to earth, but remains “in the clouds” with those who have been caught up, or in the etheric realm close to earth, invisible to all thereon but those whose soul sight has been opened.
