themselves, but that in knowing the Law and working with it, they will be helping in a truly spiritual way to free the consciousness of humanity from the deceptions and wrong beliefs that are holding men bound in material conditions, preventing their knowing their Divine nature, and that they can liberate themselves any moment—by knowing and declaring the truth of their being.
Man need not stay down in any material conditions—which means in so-called evil conditions, unless he desires to stay there. By that we mean, desires to stay more than he desires freedom from them; for we have learned that when a man wants a thing strongly enough he usually gets it. The trouble is, men do not want freedom strongly enough as yet to make it the first and supreme desire of their hearts.
But soon many millions of men, through the awakening that will shortly come to them, by having their eyes opened to the truth which they were unable to see before because of the deception and wrong beliefs aforesaid, will want to free themselves from their bondage with such intensity that they will draw to them or they will be led to the spiritual helpers who will aid them to free themselves.
Let us consider just what that means. When your mind is interested in and concerned about the things and conditions around you, you naturally find yourself involved and affected by such conditions, because they fill your consciousness and thereby strongly influence all your thinking, so that you cannot help but see and believe them to be real.
But just as surely as you turn within to God, completely away from outer things, and fix mind and heart upon Him, in a simple, childlike, perfect Love and Trust—not allowing the slightest doubt, question or fear to disturb you; just that surely will you in some seemingly miraculous way be lifted above the conditions around you, so that they will in no way affect you.
This is a glorious fact that can be proven by anyone who will comply strictly with the above stated rules. The reason for it is that the Law is being fulfilled; when the mind is fixed upon God, it naturally can see only God—which means only the Truth in God’s Consciousness, which then becomes its consciousness.
