is compelling what men shall think and therefore what they shall believe, as we have shown.
But know this—he lives and works only in the astral world of consciousness, the realm of men’s emotions, and it is his constant endeavor to lure men’s minds into that realm, for there he can easily render them helpless, in the ways above stated.
LET US get back to the “fear” aspect of this subject. Do you realize that those who are living largely in their emotions, always seeking sensation—and are thus dwelling in the astral realm, are wide open to the influence of these satanic forces? For these dark forces are now actually crowding the lower astral planes—those nearest the earth, having been driven there by the descending Forces of Light; and there is no way of escape but into the dark consciousness of men’s minds, those filled with selfishness, greed, evil and licentiousness.
Even as the Kingdom of Heaven and All Who dwell therein are descending and are now close to earth, and as the Kingdom was formerly the innermost realm of consciousness, and all that were between It and the outermost, that were unable to live in Its pure Light of Divine Love, in Its descent, necessarily had to flee from Its Light—as darkness always flees when light approaches; so have all the forces of darkness fled at the approach of the Forces of Light into the lower astral planes, close up against the physical, and have no place to go but into the selfish consciousness of men—of those who cannot bear the Light of Christ and the Truth that frees.
Therefore, can you not see why the frantic efforts of the satanic forces these last days to influence, excite by sensation, and lure men into the emotional plane of the astral realm, so they can get entrance into and control of men’s minds, thinking thus to escape from the Light of Truth?
It is the possession of the minds of such men by these forces that explain the many atrocities, evils, crimes, murders and suicides as well as many lesser sins against God and man that we read of in the papers; while the minds of editors and news writers are inspired to blaze such crimes as sensationally as possible on the front pages, so that the minds of all readers who are open may be led to think and dwell on such subjects and thus be influenced by
