Who will say that the minds of not only the people of the United States, but of those of every country in the world, are not being prepared to accept a dictator? Why now so many dictators? What is back of it all? Are the people being made ready for a World Dictator—for the Anti-christ?

David Lawrence further says, “When constitutions are scrapped, there is always a series of forms designed to justify the grabbing of power.”

Also, “What concerns every friend of human liberty, therefore, is not the legal phrases of a constitution, but the spirit which motivates the people who support it. If they consent to the undermining of a constitution; if they are indifferent to the gradual curtailment of their rights; if, in short, they do not care enough about liberty to be vigilant about retaining it, then their passive attitude brings dictatorship with incalculable swiftness.”

All this would imply that there are sinister world forces at work trying to bring about conditions in men’s consciousness that will permit them to accomplish some diabolical ends.

We mean just that—that there are actually satanic forces working in the world, deliberately planning the destruction of civilization through the demoralization of men, so that they will be unable to defend and save themselves.

By centering the minds of men upon sensational indulgences and thus luring them into emotional realms of consciousness, such men are no longer master of their mental forces, but are sucked into and held in the astral realms. There it is an easy matter to lose not only self-confidence and initiative, but their morale, their sense of moral values, their independence; to become restless, nervous, and confused about what is right and wrong, and to want continually to be going somewhere where there is excitement and they can be emotionally fed.
