means we have described, have been filled with the atrocities of war, to such effect that they have joined one or more of the many “Peace” (?) movements, and are always denouncing war and any attempt to compel them to fight. All those influenced and affected by former wars who read the newspapers and magazines and heed the war propaganda in them, in the movies and in the news reels. All those who believe war inevitable, and thereby more or less fear the result to the world and to themselves.

How many have listened to the “prophets of doom” who foretold the “Second Coming of Christ” and the great catastrophies that would result on September 16th this year, and were so filled with fear that they did many ridiculous things in anticipation thereof?

How many are listening to the socialist and communist agitators boring into all Labor Unions, stirring up animosity and strife and inspiring all kinds of foolish, impossible dreams in the minds of earnest souls who have not yet learned to think independently, but accept as so all that they are told?

The fact is, with careful observation and thought, it is not difficult to see that the whole world is being stirred up to a state of mind where it will be possible to get the great majority of people to believe that certain things are inevitable—things, when the time is ripe, that it is intended they shall believe!

For instance, David Lawrence, in The United States News, Washington, D. C., writes, “Organized groups are today attacking the Supreme Court. The attack is an indirect one, but is none the less real.” Mr. Lawrence exposes the planned strategy used to curtail the right of the Court, worked so gradually that the mass of voters were thinking that what was happening is the “will of the people.”

“If this flank attack succeeds,” he adds, “the Supreme Court will sooner or later cease to be the check it has always been on the legislative and executive branches of the Government.

“The destruction of this check means the undermining of the Constitution. The basic rights and liberties of the citizens will then be lost.”

He also states, “Every dictator the world has ever known—whether in the turbulent sovereignties of Latin America or in the
