life and in his physical health that immediately resulted. He in truth was transformed by this renewing of his mind.
There were several books written a few years ago that attempted to scare young people from these habits. The fear and utter self-condemnation they taught did much more harm than the habit itself.

FULFILLMENT
I BUILT myself a room, all beautiful,
With gold and purple, there to seek the Christ.
Its walls were living flowers, perfume filled.
In windows looking to the South and North
Fair angels stood, expectant, waiting there
With me to see His perfect Glory shine,
When from the curtained alcove to the East
He should appear. Three pure, white steps they were—
(I called them Love and Faith and Peace) which led
To Him behind the shining purple veil.
For days we waited, kneeling at the shrine,
And then, Behold! He stood before us, still;
And many days He stood there, nevermore
To pass behind the veil. — Lo! There He stood.
I waited for a signal, for a word;
I hoped and prayed and listened—nothing moved.
And then, one day, He left His shining place,
Walked down the marble steps so quietly,
And after Him Another, and Another,
Till all the room was filled with white-robed Christs—
And every one came toward me—steady—calm,
And blended into me without a sound.
And ever since, empty the alcove stands.
My room is closed—I shall not need it more.
For Christ has entered in and claimed His own;
My heart His Throne—All that I Have is His.
