The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | FEBRUARY 1933
One thing more. Think you that our Father God, in permitting these terrible trials and hardships to be visited upon His children, will allow them to go unsuccored and with no evidence of His loving care, or that He is a real and ever-present and all-powerful God?
Think you He knows not their need and will not provide for every one of them who love and trust Him and keep their hearts ever turned to Him, even in the midst of suffering and deprivation? These are indeed His blessed ones, His tried and proven ones—those who “endure to the end”—and they indeed shall not only be saved, as Jesus promised, but they shall meet Him when He comes and shall sit on His right hand in the New Age.

HOPE
M. J. B.
The day is gray and sad.
It cowers in the corner
Dry of eye yet with a heart
Drenched and wrung with tears
Too poignant to be shed.
Its threadbare cloak of neutral tinted cloud
Clings closely to its spare and grief-shaken form;
Whipped closer still by winter’s jealous biting winds;
Tearing apart yet powerless to kill
The ever present vital urge of Spring,
That shyly yet with onward sweeping faith
Peeps like a coral lining from the edge
Of that fringed ragged cloak,
And lends its cheering warmth unto the day.
With promise of a joy to come.
