The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | OCTOBER 1934

the world. Their forms slightly resembled human shape, but the Light radiating through them was so brilliant that very little else was visible.

As I thought of the Christ Light flooding out through me to bless the world, I seemingly slipped into my place in the band and felt the oneness and mighty power that goes out with our concentrated thoughts of Love and Blessing.

This is what I hold in mind now in the Noonday Service, when I think of the Light flowing out through me for the helping and blessing of others.

YOUR soul experience in rescue work was a definite evidence of how you are serving at night. Your being underneath the city or the big factory building was symbolic of the dark consciousness of those in a purely materialistic state of mind, which is the condition of the great majority of the people living in a city. In other words, it represents the evil, sin and all the degenerative and destructive forces so prevalent in the cities of today.

You were trying to rescue some of the souls that had caught by the glamour of its false life and its many enticements, and who were trying to free themselves from it. As many as possible are called to such rescue work at night, for there is much, very much help needed to save those who daily, hourly are being seduced by the evil forces rampant in almost all large cities.

Yes, the beautiful City of Lights across the river symbolized the Higher Consciousness, or the very opposite of the dark consciousness in which you were serving.

Your wonderful experience of visioning the “Unbreakable Band of Light,” encircling the world, and above it the great golden Light of Christ, shining on and through this Band, blessing the world, is a very beautiful symbol of just how the Christ Brotherhood of Light is working and what It is doing. It is a blessed thing to realize that we are a part of such Band.
