The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JULY 1933

ONE, there is no evidence in the universe of their being more than one Mind. But that Mind there are many levels of consciousness—or, as was so aptly said by Jesus, ‘In my Father’s house there are many mansions.’ Jesus failed to state that there are also many hovels—but then He was talking about the Father God, the Creator, Who created only mansions, heavenly abodes for His children who loved Him; whereas man, by his evil imagination, has created hovels in which he abides.

“The study of spiritual principles is for the purpose of releasing the ‘I AM,’ or THINKER in the mind of man, from these hovels of limitation—hovels of ignorance, selfishness, greed, hatred, envy, poverty, want and sorrow, and of leading him back to the mansions of the Father’s house.

“As the Father’s Holy Spirit (the whole of His Being) is within the atom (and within man—within you who read), so also there is in you the thought material used in building the hovels mentioned—the old traditions, the old prejudices, the old fears and doubts to which you cling with such tragic tenacity; the ideas, thoughts, beliefs that torment you and hold you a prisoner, that cause the mental tempests involving those negative qualities with which you grapple daily—and which keep you from entering into HIS PEACE.”

And later from these words I gleaned this further lesson:

Physical man, a formed, three dimensional being—life itself extended in the time-space dimension—is limited in his conscious being by his five physical senses, to-wit: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. But this physical man is an effect, the result of something manifesting. Back
