SELF SURRENDER

By Edna den Dulk

DRAWN by Thine own great love, O Christ Divine,
I yield my all and whisper, “I am Thine.”

My peaceful spirit doth no longer roam.

Secure in Thee, and shaken by no fears,
No shadows fall across the distant years.
Thy brightness clears the mists of doubt away,
And makes the night of gloom an endless day.

The joys of sweet submission to Thy will
The fleeting days with ringing gladness fill.
Thy love, eternal, boundless as the sea,
From all the storms of life doth shelter me.

When grim fear lurks sometimes around the soul,
And clouds and shadows dark obscure the goal,
