Another thing I realize, when I look back twenty years ago when I was a psychic, I was not really spiritual—and mediumship to me now almost makes me quake. It was like playing with a two-edged sword. I have no inclination to be controlled again.

People of the psychic type are generally quite negative, as was this friend; more often than not it is a serious handicap, rather than a benefit, even if it is accompanied by clairvoyance or clairaudience; because one is always sensing, seeing or hearing things about others that cause concern and worry, just as is shown above.

The fact is a negative person is usually super-sensitive and is like the receiving part of a radio if it would automatically tune in to any station in which one was interested. Such a person naturally would receive “over the air” whatever is disturbing or hurting any of her dear ones at the moment. Unless they would know how to protect themselves, to recognize the source and character of such suggestions, and would refuse to accept them, you can see how easily it would be for them to be deceived and misled. The only way to correct it is to study the laws of mind and to learn the truth about these inner faculties, their right and wrong use; then to take them in hand and devote them only to the helping and blessing of others, under the guidance of the Higher or Christ Self.
